During 2025, Namibia advanced toward a more inclusive and resilient economic trajectory. National capacities to steer economic transformation improved through strengthened policy, financing, and analytical frameworks that aligned resource mobilization with development priorities. These outcomes supported progress toward diversified value chains, green industrialization, and improved economic governance, laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and job creation.

At the same time, household and community level resilience increased through improved food security, strengthened livelihoods, and expanded access to skills, finance, and markets. Women, youth, smallholder producers, and MSMEs benefited from enhanced productive capacities, green and digital skills, and inclusive financial services. Together, these outcomes reduced vulnerability to economic and climate shocks while expanding pathways to decent work, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

With support from UN Women, the De Beers Group, and the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Lydia utilized the EntreprenHER program to gain the skills and confidence necessary to launch her first pre-primary school in 2021. Starting with only 20 children, her commitment to quality education led to rapid growth, resulting in the establishment of a second branch and the employment of five women from her community.

The success of Mighty Star Pre-primary School is a direct result of the financial management and digital literacy training provided through the initiative. Lydia applied disciplined budgeting to fund her expansion and used social media marketing to increase enrollments and professionalize her classroom environment. Today, her schools provide care for nearly 60 children, preparing them for their transition into primary school. By transforming her leadership skills and business acumen, Lydia now supports her parents and siblings while planning to build a primary school and boarding facility to serve rural communities in northern Namibia.
