UN DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM SUPPORT TO NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES THROUGH THE COOPERATION FRAMEWORK
2.1. OVERVIEW OF COOPERATION FRAMEWORK RESULTS
The year 2025 marked the start of implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2025–2029 and the launch of Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6). As the UN’s primary instrument for supporting national priorities, the UNSDCF was operationalized through strengthened governance, joint planning, and evidence- based programming. The signing and rollout of the Joint Workplan (JWP) signified a renewed commitment between the United Nations and the Government to advance inclusive development and reduce inequalities. Implementation unfolded within an evolving national context shaped by Namibia’s reclassification to a lower-middle-income country, creating new financing opportunities while highlighting ongoing challenges related to inequality, unemployment, and climate vulnerability.
